Booster club meeting on April 18

There will be a Booster Club meeting at 7 p.m., April 18 in the High School cafeteria.

Athletes earn honors

Gordon Trahan has named a first team all-star in wrestling and Alicia Stetin has been named a first team WAC North Division all-star. She is also a member of the Amsterdam Recorder All-Area Basketball Team. Ryan Hodge was also named a first team WAC North all-star in basketball, and the Amsterdam Recorder named him as a member of the All-Area Basketball Team.

Senior wins Capital District top scholar athlete award

Canajoharie High School senior Mackenzie Stahler was named the Capital District girls basketball top scholar athlete at a banquet in Albany on March 4. The award represents all of Section II. (full story)

Swimmers attending USA Gold swim meet

Swimmers from Canajoharie and Fort Plain plan to swim in the USA Gold swim meet the weekend of March 16. Canajoharie swimmers include: Bryn Clark, Meghan Cortright, Chris Deyette, Anthony Franchi, John Fancher, Danion Jonker, Hilary Jonker, Caitlyn Lawrence, Ella Robinson, Tyler Towse, Jenna Trembley, Joe Trembley, and Sheldon Vosburgh. Mathew Travis from Fort Plain will also attend. Meanwhile, Anthony Franchi's photo was also picked to be displayed on the Olympia Sports website for two week. Check out the photo here.

Girls cross country team receives award

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association recently presented the Fort Plain and Canajoharie High School girls cross country team with the scholar athlete team award for the fall 2011 season. The organization bases the award on achieving academic excellence while actively participating in varsity level athletics. (full story)

Modified football team finishes undefeated season

The Canajoharie modified football team finished its season with a perfect 6-0 record this year. The team took a perfect record into its final game against an unbeaten Fonda team and scored 22 second half points to win 22-6. (full story)

Soccer coach vacancy

The district is looking for a boys modified soccer coach. FirstAid/CPR/AED Certification required.

Swim team finishes 5-6

The varsity swimming & diving team concluded the 2010-2011 season by placing 6th (out of 12 schools) at Sectionals on February 19th. The team finished the dual meet season at 5-6.
