In the wake of Hurricane Irene, East Hill Elementary School is holding a relief drive to benefit the flooding victims of the Schoharie Valley. Items can be dropped off at East Hill Elementary or Canajoharie High School or you can contact Catholic Charities of Schoharie Valley (518) 243-3581).
Relief drive organizer and East Hill music teacher Susan Crua said many of her neighbors lost everything and she wanted to do help any way she could.
"I really want to do all I can to help," Mrs. Crua said. "The best way for people who want to help is to go to the charitable organizations in their area."
Anyone who would like to donate, please bring new items and Mrs. Crua and Kathy Dopp will bring them to Catholic Charities. Please do not bring food items.
