It was bigger
and better than ever! 70 people braved cold and windy
weather for the Fitness Center's 7th annual Turkey
Trot Saturday.
The idea began
when Fitness Center Manager Kim Hayes decided to hold a
fun-filled event to help community members shed a few of
those holiday calories. Each contestant pays a five-dollar
entry fee and then predicts how long it will take him or
her to walk 1.5 miles or run 5K over our outdoor
cross country course. The person
who came closest to his or her predicted time, without
going over, won half of
the pot—$160. The other half went to Ayres Animal Shelter.
Special thanks
to Randie and Dale Lamphere, Rob Shovelton, Debbie
Bruschetti, Raelee Grimm, Kym Dopp, and Amy Monk who
donated time and prizes to help make the even such a
huge success!
