News: Canajoharie named Outstanding District for Promoting the Fine Arts The New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYCOSS) presented Canajoharie superintendent Richard Rose with an award recognizing the district as the best in New York State for promoting music and arts.  (full story)

Local cultural opportunities

Canajoharie is rich in culture. Local  philanthropists have generously endowed the school and the community with an incredible array of facilities and artwork. Our school can boast a strong foundation in the arts.

Canajoharie Library and Art Gallery houses an impressive collection of paintings and sculptures.

Arkell Performing Arts Center located in the Canajoharie High School is home to the school's outstanding drama and music programs. It also is the site for the Canajoharie/Fort Plain Drama Club's summer performances as well as other community events.
